If you chase two rabbits, you will catch neither.

  • Hard Choices

    Great words to live by:

Easy choices hard life. Hard choices easy life.

  • The Way Out

    Most often…

The only way out is through.

    Said another way:

If you’re going through hell… keep going!

Quiting is not an option. Keep grinding and keep pushing until you break through.

  • Breaking the Ice

Here’s an easy hack if you want to talk to someone new: Find something the person is wearing and compliment it. Just a simple “love that bracelet or that’s an awesome shirt” is an easy way to open the conversation. No pressure and no commitment or anything. Makes the other person feel good.

In general, just being interested in the other person will cause them to open up and be more receptive.

  • Progress, Not Perfection

    Progress, Not Perfection

Seeking perfection usually stalls you out. You want everything to be perfect, so you keep spinning your wheels trying to make things perfect. In this way, perfection can be the enemy or progress. Instead of trying to get it exactly right immediately, you have to realize that just about everything in life is about constant improvement and refinement. You have to start somewhere, so start by gaining some progress however small at the outset and realize that you will improve and work towards perfect over time.

  • You are the Hero of Your Own Movie

You are the Hero of Your Own Movie

As you live your life, imagine that you are the hero of your own movie. Pretend that a documentary film crew is following you around every minute of the day. If that were true, what would you be doing right now? Getting it done, or slouching on the couch? If you were a fly on the wall of your hero, what would that person be doing? Get after it!

  • Strong, Smart, Brave

    I hope you are…

Strong enough to stand on your own

Smart enough to know when you need help

Brave enough to know when to ask for it
  • What is Success?

    What is Success?

“I coined my own definition of success, which is peace of mind attained only through self-satisfaction in knowing you made the effort to do the best of which you’re capable… You never heard me mention winning… My idea is that you can lose when you outscore somebody in a game, and you can win when you’re outscored.” -John Wooden

If you put in 110% and give it everything you have, you can’t lose.

Another idea: Success=do what you can with what you have where you are

Success is a combination of experience and when/how to make decisions. Your decisions, based on your experience, will determine your success.

happiness often comes from shooting for high goals but detracting yourself from the outcome. Set goals, work hard, and be happy with giving it your best.

Conflicted on this because also need to win. Sometimes giving it “your best” doesn’t cut it. If failure is not an option, you can’t take no for an answer.
