    Early in life I used to focus on improving weaknesses. Now I focus on strengths.

    But then realize over time your weaknesses can (and probably will) hold you back. People go fast early in their careers because of their strengths but their weaknesses slow them down later in their careers.

    Alone you go faster but together you go farther.

    Business is a TEAM sport. If you want to go far in business, you have to figure out how to work effectively with partners, serve customers, and get the most out of the people who work for you. Leadership is the hardest part of business. Business would be easy if it weren’t for customers and employees.

    Windows of opportunity open and close quickly. Be ready to jump when an opportunity presents itself.

    Read

    Especially biographies and memoirs.
    You’ll see even the heros of your day are mortal and have has just as many ups and downs as you have.
    If they can do it, you can too. Behind every accomplishment there’s untold sacrifice happening behind the scenes.
    Most people won’t tell you this. They like to act like they’re god’s gift to the earth. But they almost certainly struggled and worked hard to get there.
    Everyone else is just as clueless as you are. People make LOOK like they’ve got it figured out, but they don’t.
